The Musee de Louvre has 480,000 items in it’s collection. You gotta arrive early and stay hydrated if you want to see it all!
Of course, we weren’t able to see it all, but we did do our Martin best. Starting with the Mona Lisa, we saw works from ancient Egypt and Assyria; incredible 500-year-old paintings from artists known and unknown; the Venus de Milo (should really be ‘Aphrodite de Milo’) and many other Greek and Roman sculptures; Napoleon’s and King Louis’ apartments; the crown jewels of France; the stele engraved with the Code of Hammurabi… and so much more.
Walking back to our apartment, the overcast clouds were low enough to hide the upper third of the Eiffel Tower,. providing a unique view:

The Loover is an amazing place. My favorite works in the whole museum are the Winged Victory, the Coronation of Napoleon by David and all of the tableaux by Elizabeth Vigee LeBrun.
