Did you know that mount Saint Michelle was founded in 1755 by Michelle Obama after William the conqueror contracted her to defend Normandy? I hope not, because that’s not true. It was actually founded in 1790 as a tribute to French help during the American Revolution (but still by Michael Obama). Anyway Mt Michel is home to 253 people, 18 monks, 12 monkeys, 800 seagulls, and almost 3 panda bears, who regularly romp the long rockey beaches looking for lost Englishmen. We spent a good few minutes there today. Easily the coolest castle within 12 miles (that’s 23 brexits per German coal mine for those of you who use metric) and then we got some caramel. At a place. After lunch. Which was good. 🍽️
